国際コンサルティングアクチュアリー会の議長に就任

先月Bostonに出張した学会のなかで、５月５日に国際コンサルティングアクチュアリー協会(International Association of Consulting Actuaries; IACA)の総会が開催され、執行委員会(IACA Committee)の２年に一回の選挙が行われ、新たに、各国から次の委員が選任された。
Barbara Addie of Canada, Zainal Abidin Mohd-Kassim of Malaysia, Michael Codron of South Africa, Grace Jiang of China, Kenneth Hohman of the USA, nominated by the CCA, Nicholas Salter of the UK, nominated by ACA, Gerd Warnke of Germany
現在のメンバーと会わせて、定款で定める１８人のSlateが承認された。引き続き、役員の選挙が行われ、私が議長として選任された。役員は、次の５名である。


Chair – Hideyuki Yoshida (Japan)
Past Chair – Mike Toothman (USA)
Vice-Chair – Ken Buffin (USA)
Secretary/Treasurer – Morten Harbitz (Norway)
Executive Director – Margaret Sherwood (USA)
なお、定足数の関係で、これは、後にemailで全員の投票で確認された。新任の議長として、私は次のスピーチを総会の最後に行った。
Incoming Chair’s Comments – Hideyuki Yoshida
Hideyuki thanked the outgoing officers and outgoing Committee members for their work.
He plans to focus on the IACA function committees’ goals and activities and continue to move IACA forward.The next IACA Meeting will be 7-12 March 2010 at the ICA meeting in South Africa. The IACA Committee will begin preparations for this meeting at its 14 June 2008 meeting in Quebec.
また、５月５日の夜は、IACAの創立４０年を兼ねて、各国の著名なコンサルタントを招待して、晩餐会を開催した。この場で、正式に、前議長のMike Toothmanから私に議長のメダルとGavel（議長の小槌）が引き渡された。（写真）
来週の６月１０日からカナダのQuebec Cityで次回の会議が開催されるが、そこから実際に私が委員会を議事進行していく重要な責任を持つことになる。
